When it comes to looking for ethical workwear and uniform, many people are looking for sustainable hoodies as a practical, relaxed style. Whilst knowing that they are making a responsible choice for their business or organisation. Uniform has drastically changed in the last few years; this was partly linked to the global pandemic. Many people started working from home, and as a result, uniform has become much more relaxed. Below are some of the types of ethical certifications that can apply to sustainable hoodies.
- Fairtrade, this is a very high standard that ensures that everyone involved throughout the whole supply chain is treated fairly, this includes pay, working hours, safe conditions as well as many other requirements.
- Organic, this means that the fabrics and dyes used have not been in contact with any harmful chemicals. Organic cotton uses much less water to grow which is also great for the environment.
- Recycled, this means that the fabric has been made from recycled materials such as old milk bottles or waste fabric. There are a whole range of materials that can be recycled to make new fabrics.
- Peta Vegan, this means that no animal was killed or harmed in the making of this clothing.
At Cotton Roots we supply all sorts of sustainable hoodies, both stock items and bespoke, these can also be Pantone dyed to match a specific colour. We also brand garments with print or embroidery, which is also carried out in a sustainable way. The thread we use for embroidery is made from 100% natural rayon viscose from sustainable sources where possible and our screen printing uses ink which is phthalate free. This all helps to make our sustainable hoodies cause as little environmental impact as possible.
